I couldn't get this to work either when I 2-finger clicked in the icon in the app launcher, BUT, try doing the 2-finger click on the app name, not the icon. Then I got the drop down list to uninstall.

for anyone who cant figure it out please listen and follow my directions. open your chrome web store. then click on the settings icon next to your email address there you will see "My Extensions & Apps" click on that. Then you will come to a page that has Installed and Library. Click on Library after that you will be able to remove the apps or extension. Good luck and enjoy

Should an application become unresponsive on your Chromebook, you can either wait to see if it responds or forcefully close it with the Chrome OS Task Manager. Here's what to do if you need to kill an unresponsive app.

How to Close Unresponsive Apps

While unresponsive apps aren't all that common on Chrome OS in the first place, the OS isn't immune to the issue. And with more types of apps available on Chrome OS than any other operating system out there—web apps, Android apps, and Linux apps—that creates more of an opportunity for something to go wrong. If you find yourself in that situation, here's how to handle it.

Fire up Chrome, click the menu button, then click on More Tools > Task Manager, or press Search+Esc anywhere while using your Chromebook.

When the Task Manager opens, you'll see that every currently-running app, extension, tab, and process on your Chromebook is listed. Here is where you're able to see a process' digital footprint and manually close anything on your Chromebook with the simple click of a button.

Locate the unresponsive process, click on it, and then click on "End Process."

This kills the app instantly without any warnings, forcing the process to stop.

After you end the process, you can restart the app, hopefully without issues. If it continues to be unresponsive, there may be a problem with the application, try uninstalling, then reinstalling the program from the appropriate source—the Play Store for Android apps, the Chrome Web Store for web apps, and so on.

If you still experience problems after that, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Chrome OS installed on your Chromebook. Sometimes updating to the newest version can fix certain bugs with other apps. Otherwise, it may be time to start looking for another tool for the job.

I'll tell you how to remove an app permanently from your Chromebook so you can free up space and install other apps (if you wish).

Step 1: Open the Chrome Launcher.

You can do this easily in one of two ways:

Method 1: You can click on the circular icon on the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

Either way, it'll then open up a small window with all your most frequently used apps along with a search bar that'll come in handy.

If you can't find it, you can click on the "see all" link at the bottom of the window to view all your apps. I don't know if that's the exact text (because it may have changed with a Chrome OS update), but it's something along those lines. You'll find it.

Pro-tip: You can easily find the app you want using the search bar or even your voice. Just start typing the name of the app in the search bar and it'll give you automatic suggestions of apps currently installed as well as apps online that you can install. You don't even need to know the whole name. You can also do the same using your voice if you enable voice dictation.

Step 3: Open the options menu.

When you find the app you want to delete, simply right-click on it. This is easily done by touching the trackpad with two fingers. After you do that, an options menu will pop up.

Step 4: Delete the app.

Click on "uninstall" from the options menu. Your Chromebook will now uninstall the app. It's fully deleted from your laptop.

If you visit the same app on the Chrome Web Store again, it'll be ready to install if you want to install it again.

That's it. You're done.

ALT + BACKSPACE, as I mentioned, is DELETE—that is, delete the NEXT letter after the cursor.

CTRL + BACKSPACE will delete the previous word.

SHIFT + ALT + BACKSPACE will clear autofill form data on a page.

ALT + UP is PAGE UP.

ALT + DOWN is PAGE DOWN.

SEARCH BUTTON + LEFT is HOME.

SEARCH BUTTON + RIGHT is END.

To type SCROLL LOCK… just kidding, there is no scroll lock on the Chromebook. What does scroll lock even do? Does anyone know?
